The purpose of the Student Academic Progress standard ensures teachers are continually assessing and providing helpful feedback to encourage student progress. The primary goal of the standard is to give students the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge in the content area. It is the teacher’s responsibility to measure this progress through summative, formative, and performance assessments. It benefits the student to accurately track progress because it gives the teacher a better understanding of where the students are academically to more effectively deliver content.
In order to guide my instruction before I start teaching the lesson, I give my students pre-tests. Then, to track my students’ academic progress, I give my students a post test in addition to assessing a finished project.
