Professional Knowledge

The purpose of the Professional Knowledge standard is to ensure educators are well equipped to meet the needs of their students both through a solid knowledge base and appropriate instruction techniques. The primary goal of this standard is to help students grow through classroom and experiential opportunities which benefit their personal, intellectual, and social development. The central objective of this standard is to hold teachers accountable for not only the appropriate curriculum being taught but the application of the subject into meaningful content for the students.

My test scores and educational background are a testament to  my knowledge of the fine arts. I have had a wide range of experiences in and outside of the classroom enforcing the importance of art education. I will use these personal experiences to inform how I direct my classroom in creating an atmosphere for the student to develop all aspects of his/her person.
